Time out with Delinquent

I took 5mins out to get a quick word from delinquent..
Here it is:
DJ Q
Delinquent
When did you first get involved with the UKG scene?
erm , i think it was 2001. Actually putting out and making garage but been listening to it from 1999 - 2000
What was it that first made you wanna get involved with the scene?
The vibe of the raves , and the whole fact that garage at that time had some many influences it appealed to us
Your label spoilt rotten is doing well at the moment, i don't think i've been disapointed with a release... Do you have a favourite tune of yours that has been released on there, if so what is it and why?
I think its gotta be like a feather,. because we didnt expect it to do as well as it has , and still has
Yeh alot of people still feel that tune....
yeah man and to this day i dont know why
Your recent remix of Usher's 'Caught Up' was featured on the official UK release of the single.. that was a big look, not just for you but for the whole scene as well... How did that link up come about?
Through luck really and just doing mixes we had a opportunity to do it so we did the mix and it got accepted by Usher's people. We was really happy that went through
Alot of your material is getting hammered by "bassline house" dj's up north... What do you think about the way that scene is progressing at the moment up here?
I think its encouraging that other people are embracing the sound and letting it spead. It can only be a good thing that tunes can crossover and a bigger audience can get exposed to it .. so i think its healthy and hope bassline house 44 / garage get even bigger
Your sound can be described as 4x4 & 2 step.. What do you think about the way the grime scene is at the moment
The grime scene is healthy alot of collabs and good music is coming out .. but it needs to still get more positive. Same with 44 theres alot of good material being made and collabs but it needs to be released
Yeh thats very true.. speaking of grime have you ever experimented with it?
Nah not really never made any good stuff anyways
Alright then finally, what are your plans for the future?
To keep releasing music really a load of music ready for 06 not just from ourselves but on the spoilt rotten label and push my some new artists.
Alright then, safe for that, respect for taking the time out for this.. im sure we'll catch up very soon....
